Shop Layout, Bus Rage and New Art!

By Genevieve @ 6:21 pm

Yes an update! :O It’s been a while, how has everybody been? I’m sorry I haven’t been able to go around to everyone who comment or my affies due to time constraints (you know same old same old excuse :p ) What’s new on my end? Since it’s Victoria Day weekend I’m able to get some time to myself and finished the new layout for the PandaPad.Com Online Shops. Still can’t get a little kink out in IE though :p bad IE XP but just to give you a heads up there are new products added plus new colours for some of our existing apparel so be sure to check them out ;)

Oh yeah something weird happened on one of my bus rides home from work. Apparently a guy was late to catch the bus I was riding on and being an impatient, inconsiderate and overly-heated individual, he decided to throw something at the window of the bus when it stopped for a red light. I was sleeping so all I heard was a loud thud (thank goodness the window didn’t shatter to pieces although it was broken). I woke up to see the guy sticking up the middle finger and then running off. He gives Asians a bad name first off and second of all it shows you just how spoiled people are in fortunate countries. The ability to ride on a bus instead of a crowded 6 seater jeep to go one place to another (remembering the Philippines here) and being fortunate to live in a country where the living conditions for many is very bearable compared to third world countries. It really is quite sad how much people take for granted. All this because he was late in catching the bus.

Anyways enough of my ranting. Here’s a fan art post of my Soul Linker in RO for you :D (And yes as some of you may have noticed I’m not stressing over doing stuff for Anime North this year since I didn’t get a table. Oh well there is always next year.) Enjoy until the next update!

Quick Update

By Genevieve @ 11:09 am

Hi everyone! Sorry it has been quite a while since my last post. I’m still working around the clock like usual but I’m getting use to it…somewhat XD And just to point out now that my work is more of an extreme case. Not everyone who goes into the design field will have the same workload but you must be ready for anything (which is what my design program taught me since we had 9 courses each semester with 1-2 projects for each course every 1-2 weeks). Plus on top of that I do other things besides design like my illustrations and pixel art. So I’m not just in design. That’s what’s making my workload even heavier. I have the bad habit of not rejecting a lot of projects unless for extreme purposes (like my carpel which has started to act up again). But overall once I get use to something, it isn’t all that bad. Thanks to everyone that gave me lots of encouragement cause I really appreciate it ;) In hopes to not make this post too long I’ll leave you with the newest finished illustration I posted a little while ago. Enjoy!

When it Rains…

By Genevieve @ 9:27 pm

Penguin PuffsYou know the old saying when it rains it pours? I have officially had a down-pour in my current life… This was my day so far: 6:30am wake up, 7:00am start work (requested I stay home to cut the 3+hr of travel time to work), work until lunch @ 12pm, work on a commission through lunch until 1:00pm where I am back to my regular work, work until 7pm and break for dinner, return phone call to a client at 7:30pm to find out he wants me to finish his work by next week and to work on it on the weekend. Only problem with this is that I will be working on 2 other projects for clients during the weekend which requires all my time. Currently I will be working overtime for the next 3 days (including today) for my full time job so I have not been out of the house (besides church) in over 3 weeks. The two other projects include a continuous web design development and a new contract position as a pixel artist for a company specializing in making pixels for games. I would rather put my energy on the two projects than anything else.

Now the two big questions, how am I going to finish everything by their due dates and ARE THESE PEOPLE TRYING TO KILL ME?! I don’t mind my projects, however doing overtime in a job I only started 3 weeks ago is totally insane. And the client who I returned the phone call to is unsympathetic about the situation since of course he has his project in mind. Everyone has their own stuff to deal with but why does it have to happen in such a short period of time for me? If I had these things spread out during the time I didn’t have work I wouldn’t be as nerved as I am right now =_=; I have no time to work on my shop, no time to comment back to my visitors and affies and no time to take a breather. I would take doing what I enjoy to do with less money than working to no end and making tones of money any day. I hope everyone else is enjoying life better than I am at the moment :p
