Truth displaying perfect love

“And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.” (Luke 20:26)

I’ve been reflecting a lot today about a sad instance that happened over the weekend and it just made me realize even more, the frailty of humanity. How misunderstandings can easily arise and how hatred and contempt easily grows in a person’s heart. I’m sure everyone has had their fair share of these instances, some more than others.
Yet amidst it all, it makes me marvel at how Jesus Christ was able to handle all these things and more in his humanity. His words never once were addressed wrongly and only those blinded to the truth were in offense to His sayings and teachings. Even at the brink of suffering and death, His desire was to save those who had put Him on that cross. He desired to save us even though our sins put Him through all that anguish. While we wallow in our own sufferings, Christ selflessly suffered for everyone.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

How idiotic our sinfulness is and how stupid that we never learn. Though my mind has been filled with nothing but sadness over the loss that I’ve experienced over the weekend, it makes me love God even more that He has reminded me of His great love for everyone.
I pray that one day the person I have lost contact with will open their heart to the love of Christ which will never betray them or forsake them. Which forgives even the vilest of sins and those who even humanity deems as hateful. Because in the end, we are all sinners who have nailed Christ to the cross and have hurt Him just the same. As Christ has the heart and love to give to us, my heart’s desire is that this person may also experience that immeasurable love and may come to be filled with it within their lives as well. It is also a burden in my heart to pray that Christ may also work in me so that He may give me the words which are fitting for each situation so that His love may be fully expressed in my words, thoughts and deeds.
